Forget “Gam Gajah”, Duck Tape or whatever, I want my caulobacter-crescentus glue!
It can withstand a force felt by a quarter with more than three cars piled on top of it! That’s two to three times more force than the best currently commercially-available glues can handle.
And it works on permanently wet surfaces.
Possible application: as a biodegradable surgical adhesive.
Scientists trying to make it have encountered a practical problem: how to take it off. It sticks to absolutely everything, including the tools used to create it, and cannot be washed off.

Justin King – acoustic guitar virtuoso
18-Apr-06
Justin King is one of those guitarists that make you stop to admire his God-given talent, but I think he’s still very much unknown in this part of the world. His name is not even listed in allmusic.com.
I was forwarded saw his “Larivee videoclip” tonight. I was even more amazed than when I first saw JerryC’s (the Taiwan guitarist) music. (more…)

Finally, Coyote catches Road Runner
10-Apr-06
Finally, Wile E Coyote catches the Road Runner.
This one was uploaded by Lafacukur, an edited version of the debut Coyote & Road Runner cartoon, Fast and Furry-ous, with an edited ending. The Latin American press reported that this was “made by an animator by request of a Japanese millionaire that was sick of never seeing the Coyote succeed.”

So it comes back to the question of living within your means. This not only applies to Joe Public on the street earning RM5,000 per month working as a drone in mid-management in KL.
Even if your salary is 100,000 pounds a week (about RM2.4 million a month), you are still considered worse off than Joe if you spend money like there’s no tomorrow.
He would surely love to stay at Las Vegas hotels…

The Gospel of Judas controversy
10-Apr-06
My mom frantically called me last night to watch National Geographic’s coverage on the above.
The central controversy regarding it is that the document paints Judas Iscariot in a positive light, and describes him as obeying God’s command in handing over Jesus to the authorities for the salvation of the world. In other words, the documents says that Judas didnt do it on his own accord, nor the Devil’s.
Catholic.org asked Legionary Rev Fr Thomas D. Williams, Dean of Theology at the Regina Apostolorum university in Rome for his comments on the issue.

Try breaking AES 256 key length then.
Therefore, Phil Zimmerman’s zfone should appeal to criminals and terrorists alike, rather than Skype, enabling you to make secure internet phonecalls:
…to eavesdroppers, Zfone is anything but routine. The protocol is based on SRTP, a system that uses the 256-bit AES cipher and adds to that a 3,000-bit key exchange that produces the codes callers can read off to one another. It has been submitted to IETF for approval as an internet standard, and by most accounts is strong enough to defy even the most sophisticated code-breaking technologies, from a hacker’s packet sniffer to the acres of computers beneath Ft. Meade.

Malaysian fake degrees from abroad
05-Apr-06
As the star reported on 4th April, most fake degrees in Malaysia were MAs, MBAs, PhDs and honorary doctorates obtained overseas and via the Internet.
But what the Higher Education Ministry Parliamentary Secretary Datuk Dr Adham Baba reportedly said irked me, which is: they need to receive an official complaint on the matter, before they can act. If not, they can only monitor. Come on! It’s like the police watching a robbery taking place and doing nothing, because nobody has made a police report yet. For goodness sake, it’s been going on for years. Action is severely overdue. (more…)

Less than a month (apparently middle of March) after I issued a warning on ST, and weathering vociferous voices of dissent, I was apparently proven right.
Related thread, long post in defence of ST and my posts mysteriously disappeared.
ST is no more, as of several days ago.
Who’s next? e-gold? Lamp Berger?
I guess StudioPay (M) Sdn Bhd will be no more soon, and the 2 names provided in lowyat.net forums could be brought to the book.
