Worst Santa Claus outfit ever

I think it’d be very hard to top a Santa Claus clad in red mankini:

YouTube Preview Image

You probably remember the green mankini worn by Sacha Baron Cohen in the 2006 film with the rather long title: Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.

Should one be brave enough to wear a mankini in public, I suppose one must have the body to match, therefore for those not quite in shape but still want to look good in it, if that was at all possible, perhaps it’d be a good idea to consume the best fat burners available.

Most used Christmas card

The BBC reported on Christmas Eve 2010 that a Christmas card was sent in 1949 from Canada to Sussex, United Kingdom.

Now there’s nothing unusual about that, but it had a message in it asking for it to be sent back to the sender. So, the next Christmas, it was sent back to where to came from in Canada.

And that had been going on for most of the last 61 years – up to this year, it has now crossed the Atlantic Ocean 54 times.

The tradition was started by Linda Ashton’s mother. After her mother died, Ms Ashton continued it, the other player in Canada being her 94-year old aunt.

Well, I suppose that in that era, it was the closest thing to green shopping

Toughest woman

The Star reported on Christmas Eve 2010 that Chan Ka Piu, 44 of Hong Kong was a very depressed man due to his job.

Things came to a head on the 21st December 2010 when he inexplicably started stabbing the back of his wife, Liew Pui Mun, 43 while she was still asleep at 7am in their condo.

Startled, she managed to push her husband away, yet he didn’t relent, coming back, then pinned her body on the bed and continued stabbing away, a total of 208 times.

Amazingly, she still managed to get up and run away.

Chan then took the fateful decision of jumping off to his death.

Some commenters have asked: “stabbed 208 times and she’s still alive? Did he use a needle?!”

Whether her superhuman feat was the result of diet pill side effects or something else is unknown.

The most obscene work of art ever

Belgian artist Thierry de Cordier did a painting named Asperges Me (Dry Sin) which was displayed in the winter of 2003 at Outlook, Greece’s biggest ever contemporary art exhibition.

Reportedly it wasn’t until 45 days later that far-right politician Giorgos Karatzaferis saw it and went ballistic:

It was the most obscene, immoral, shameless painting I had ever seen.

Description of the painting:

On the right of the canvas was a cross, propped against a wall; on the left a fully erect penis that looked to have been circumcised. Upon closer observation, one could see that semen was dripping from the crucifix.

An image of the painting.

Or it could be the one in 2007 by Chandramohan Srilamantula of a:

… huge cross with Jesus Christ, his hands and feet limp. Christ was shown with his penis hanging out, and semen dripping from the penis into a commode placed beneath the cross. The commode had fish in it.

The world’s oldest pimp

It was reported in The Star on 16th May 2007 that a 70-year-old man in Kuantan was arrested at a house for earning his living off prostitution.

Also arrested in the raid was a 60-year-old client and a 40-year-old woman from China who’s believed to be a hooker. Seven condoms and a bottle of lubricant were found in the house.

So you can say the oldest pimp benefited from the world’s oldest profession.

The only thing is that he now might have to wear Kangol Hats to prevent his face from being snapped by photographers outside court.

Worst Malaysians who ever lived

Here’s a list of some Malaysians most people would rather be gotten rid of.

Mohamed Abbas Danus Baksan, then 47, who raped, sodomised, then killed 10-year old Nurul Huda Gani on 17th January 2004 at a TNB guardhouse in Tanjung Kupang, Johor. Nurul Huda had gone out on an errand that morning but failed to return home. Her family looked for her, including the guardhouse, but Abbas denied ever seeing her. They sought his permission to conduct a search of the vicinity of the guardhouse but was told by him that according to police instructions, only their officers could be allowed entry. Police permission was later granted but they were still denied entry by a parang-wielding Abbas, prompting the police personnel to climb over the gate. A scuffle ensued but they later found Nurul Huda in the toilet of the guardhouse, naked and unconscious. She was rushed to a clinic but was pronounced dead on arrival. Prior to the incident, Abbas had had 8 previous police convictions, including armed robbery, which raised the question of how such a person could have been hired as a security guard. Abbas, who was unrepresented, did not show any emotion throughout the proceedings.

Hanafi Mat Hassan, then 32, who raped and strangled Noor Suzaily Mokhtar to death inside the bus he’d been driving in Klang, Selangor on 7th October 2000. He was sentenced to hang; then outside the courtroom, he kicked at journalists’ cameras.

Ahmad Najib Aris
, then 27, who abducted IT analyst Canny Ong from Bangsar Shopping Centre on 14th June 2003, then raped, killed and burned her body. Her remains were found 3 days later in a manhole near a highway construction site in Jalan Kelang Lama. He was sent to the gallows.

These guys were employed, and 2 were actually on the job when they committed their crimes, so it’s not like they were jobless and had too much time on their hands. Some people would argue that this is more reason for them to be handed additional punishment, like being forced to clean toilets with their tongues!

Youngest ever Time’s person of the year

Person of the Year (formerly known as Man of the Year) is produced annually by prominent US-based magazine Time that features “a person, couple, group, idea, place, or machine that for better or for worse, …has done the most to influence the events of the year,” not necessarily in a positive way. Hence, even Adolf Hitler was Person of the Year in 1938.

Mark Zuckerberg was announced as Time’s Person of the Year 2010 at the strikingly young age of 26:

He’s also the second youngest ever recipient of the award.

The youngest ever, and the first Person of the Year was Charles Lindbergh in 1927. He was then 25 and a US Air Mail pilot. He was the first person to fly solo, non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean. He achieved the feat on 20-21 May 1927, flying from New York to Paris, a distance of almost 3,600 miles, in the single-seat, single-engine monoplane Spirit of St. Louis.

So a 80+ year gap between the youngest and second youngest awardee: the first light years away from the era of netbooks and similar gadgets.

Other young awardees were:
- Queen Elizabeth II, then 26 in 1952
– Martin Luther King Jr., then 34 in 1963
– Jeff Bezos, then 35 in 1999

Greatest rickrolls

I think the ultimate rickroll would be one where you’re not even aware rickrolling is going on.

And I think that happened some time in 2006 / 2007 during Ian Benardo’s audition in So You Think You Can Dance? Never mind the that apparently the first “official” rickroll happened in May 2007 on 4chan’s video game board.

YouTube Preview Image

If Benardo were like any other ordinary contestant, probably nobody would’ve noticed, but he’s probably the cockiest reality talent show contestant ever, with his “outspoken claims to superstardom, his argumentative style, camp retorts and inventive use of language.” During his audition, his dance entry was criticized by the judging panel. During the ensuing altercation, judge Nigel Lythgoe told him “you’re wasting our time”.

The following are fake, yet I think still deserves to be in the list of the greatest rickrolls ever:

How about Hitler being rickrolled? This is probably the greatest combination of 2 popular internet memes – rickrolling and “Hitler Knows”:

YouTube Preview Image

And how about Senator John McCain being “Barack Rolled” at the Republican National Convention? Unfortunately it never happened; the “Barack Roll” image was displayed on the giant blue sky background that was behind John McCain during parts of his speech; the video was pieced together from footage of the event.

Then there’s the rickroll which rode on the Wikileaks bandwagon, called the single most damning wikileaks cable:

The biggest named number

Update 10th Dec 2010

Apparently a guapamongaplex is not even the biggest named number anymore.

Rather, it’s a Meameamealokkapoowa Oompa, which is a:

{LLL….a…..LLL,10}10,10 a = Meameamealokkapoowa array of L’s

I know, I give up too…

———————–
2004

What is the biggest number?

A named number, that is.

We might’ve heard of googool (1 followed by 100 zeroes) or googoolplex (1 followed by a googol zeroes).

But these are rather small when compared to “infinity scrapers”.

There isn’t a googool of anything, cos there are ONLY around 10 to the power of 77 atoms in the known universe, which should be big enough a number to overwhelm anybody, but a crazy guy by the name of Jonathan Bowers thinks this is not big enough. So off he goes exploring even bigger numbers.

I say he’s crazy cos he even claims to be able to describe what heaven is like and what a space with 4 dimensions look like.

Still, I think he’s truly in love with numbers, definitely much more than lipofuze reviews.

He says, “I’ll start with the “smaller” numbers, such as a googol and a googolplex, then start going into larger and larger numbers like a gongulus and a golapulus.”

Then he goes on to describe numbers with names such as tetratri, pentadecal, xappol, goppatoth, great big boowa and wompogulus.

His numbers are so big that they require array notations to represent.

The biggest named number in his list is called, hold you breath, a “Guapamongaplex”, which is “10^100 array of B’s within guapamonga-level “# #”, where B is a 10^10 array of 10′s”, whatever that means. I can’t even tell how many zeros after 1 this number contains.

So now you can go around and say, “give me a guapamongaplex of that, won’t you?” even though you surely will get weird looks

Longest celebrity marriage

So many Hollywood / other celebrity marriages have ended in divorce (some lasted only a day!), yet some couples proved that all is not lost when it comes to the wedding vow “till death us do part.”

The following world-famous couple have truly stood the test of time.

Charlton Heston (1923-2008), the Oscar-winning American leading star of such Hollywood epics like The Ten Commandments & Ben-Hur, married actress Lydia Marie Clarke in 1944 when he was 21, and remained married to her until his death on 5th April 2008, after 64 years of marriage.

Charlton and Lydia in 1960

64 years! When they got married perhaps honda snowblower parts were not even invented yet…

Other celebrity marriages which have lasted for at least 50 years:

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip married in 1947, and they are still together today, 63 years as of 2010!

Bob and Dolores Hope, who were married for 59 years until his death in 2003.

Larry and Mag Hagman married in 1954, and they are still together today.

Kirk Douglas & Anne Buydens married in 1954, and they are still together today.

Ronald and Nancy Reagan were married for 52 years until his death in 2004.

Alan and Arlene Alda were married in 1957, and they are still together today.

The best Elvis impersonator / tribute artist (2010)

After 3 years, it’s time to relook this.

There are reportedly more than 85,000 Elvis impersonators in the world, and 6,000 of them are considered professionals. But who’s at the top of the game? Apparently it’s not Shawn Klush anymore, but rather Max Pellicano, who’s done Elvis for more than 30 years, yes, even longer than the real Elvis!

Those bell bottoms!; or are they apple bottoms?

He’s performed in Malaysia 3 times up to December 2010.

A video of him in action:

Quotes I got regarding the man:

President of Lejadi Group, Tan Sri Lim Ewe Jin who got him to come to Malaysia:

Max Pellicano is recognised even by his peers to be the best in the business.

There are a lot of Elvis acts in the world, but Max is at the top.

Malaysia’s first full-length gay romance movie

UPDATE 30th March 2011

The Daily Chilli reported that the film made RM1 million in 5 days. Hence it’s broken even in about a week.

Now the inevitable question is, will it break Ngangkung’s record of RM8 million?

————————————-

Whereas Comolot (2007) is the first Malaysian short film which deals with homosexuality, Dalam Botol [literally, In A Bottle] is the first feature film on the subject approved for showing on the big screen by the Malaysian authorities.

Trailer:

YouTube Preview Image

Scheduled for screening February 2011.

Plot: a man undergoes a sex change operation in order to please his male lover. Instead, the lover abandons him.

Director: Raja Azmi Raja Sulaiman

Cost: more than RM1 million

However, if you’re looking for scenes reminiscent of Brokeback Mountain, you’d be disappointed. The leads never kiss and the only hint that the wild thing has taken place is in a scene where a man, clad in his underwear, gets out of bed while his male partner is suggested to be sleeping naked under a blanket, although of course if he was wearing wrestling apparel underneath we’ll never know for sure.

Basically, Malaysia is not yet ready for a Malaysian movie about “two gay men who meet, fall in love and live happily ever after.”

The world’s greatest movie scenes: part 1: Goodfellas: “funny guy” scene

Goodfellas (1990), where according to Maxim magazine, Joe Pesci wrote and directed this particular scene at Martin Scorsese’s request. The extremely realistic presence of the brutish and intimidating Tommy De Vito, played by Joe Pesci and the stuttering nervous wreck that is Henry Hill, played by Ray Liotta, is a must-see for any movie lover:
